The Australian Tax Office collects federal tax revenues and serves as the government entity for individuals and businesses to register for tax purposes. Businesses require an “ABN” (Australian Business Number) in order to conduct business. Corporations require an “ACN (Australian Company Number).
In addition to federal taxes, State and Territory governments also raise taxes from individuals and companies.
